Slice of Life: Day 5
I saw it this afternoon when I checked my son’s report at the end of the day. He had earned 4 points and a yahoo note. A yahoo note is given not when you clip up to blue or when you clip up to purple, but it is when you do something so great you clip above purple to the top of the chart! My son was so proud when I picked him up after school too.
“Mom, guess what?! I earned a yahoo note!”
“Buddy, I am so proud of you!”
Beaming, he replied, “I was good all day and a good role model!”
The yahoo note was placed on our board next to the refrigerator for all to see.
“Now we have to have a kitchen dance party.”
“What’s a kitchen dance party?” my completely clueless husband asks.
“A dance party you have in the kitchen because you are so excited for the yahoo note… obviously!” I retort.
His look to me clearly relayed I needed to reign in my sass as he likes to call it.
“How about a bedroom dance party instead?”
So there to celebrate, the four of us raced upstairs to twirl, jump, spin, move our happy feet, snap, booty bounce and shake to celebrate the yahoo note. Nothing beats the giggles, laughter, “look at me” and “try this” as we danced around the room.
I couldn’t have asked for a better end to the night.
