I was the leprechaun

Slice of Life: Day 17

Tonight I was the leprechaun.  Leaving trails of shamrocks and leprechauns, green and gold confetti glitter where the leprechaun was.  Leaving green and gold coins behind.  Chairs knocked on the floor, drawers opened, crayons spilled out of the box.  The leprechaun trap disarmed with gold glitter left behind.  You didn’t catch me this time…. I wanted to have chocolate coins and green mints for them to wake up to, but the current state of our country and world upended foiled my grand plans… instead St. Patty’s Day necklaces, hats and headbands will have to do and some green money never hurt too! I love my son’s excitement in hopes of catching a leprechaun and it gives me hope knowing that as dark as things can and may get the hope, joy and excitement of little kids should always be our shining light!
